Born on 5 November 1958 in the village of Viisoara, Glodeni Rayon, Anatolie Gorodenco graduated successfully from the Agricultural Institute in Chishinau, the Department of Mechanization and Electrification in Agriculture in 1980.
Also a graduator of the High Communist Party School in Kiev (1988-1990) and the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Republic of Moldova (1996-1999) with a Degrees in Political sciences and International Relations.
In September 1980, he takes the position of Engineer-organizer of the Electrification & Mechanization Association of Glodeni Rayon.
Beginning with August 1983 till 1986 he is in the Comsomol and Youth Glodeni Organization as Second and later First Secretary of Comsomol district Committee.
During the period 1986-1991 he holds the position of Head of the Organizational Department, Second and then First Secretary of district Committee of the Communist Party of Moldova.
From October 1991 till June 2003 he is Director of Glodeni Reparation S.A.
In June 2003 he is elected as President of Glodeni Rayon.
On 19 April 2005, upon the Parliament vote of confidence and by Presidential Decree, Anatolie Gorodenco is appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry.
He is married to Julieta Gorodenco – a high school teacher of Russian Language and Literature. They have two children; the son – Renat works with a consulting company in Chishinau, the daughter, Cristina – a student of the Academy of Economic Sciences in Chishinau.
